Ekinops, a leading supplier of next-generation optical network equipment, was awarded the 2017 Growth Companies' Grand Prize in the Electronics and Robotics category, for companies with between €5 million and €20 million of turnover, at a ceremony held on May 31, 2017.
Created in partnership with the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Growth Companies’ Grand Prize is awarded to French companies that have experienced strong growth in their turnover over the past three years. Supported by numerous institutions, including Medef, CroissancePlus and CPME, the Grand Prix selects more than 200 companies and celebrates fourteen sectors, as well as all the stages of growth of a company. For each sector, the selected companies compete in the category corresponding to their turnover, namely: 5-20 million euros // 20-100 million euros // 100 million-1 billion euros.
Didier Brédy, CEO of Ekinops, said:
"Over the past three years, EKINOPS has delivered sustained growth of + 48% between 2014 and 2016, which is rewarded through this award. The year 2017 started on a dynamic basis with a first quarter growth of + 22%, representing a 7th consecutive quarter of growth of 20% or more. These steady increases reflect EKINOPS' ability to generate sustained growth, particularly in 2017, year for which we intend to make further sustained progress."
In addition, during May 2017, EKINOPS received an Innovation Award from Celtic-Plus for its participation in the SASER project.
Celtic-Plus is the research program of European industry, under the aegis of EUREKA, specializing in telecommunications and information technology. The program covers many areas of ICT, such as communications, infrastructure, applications and multimedia.
SASER is a European project that aims to make communication networks in Europe faster, more profitable, safer and more secure. As part of this project, a world record for optical transmission was established in 2015 on the Lyon-Marseille-Lyon link of the fiber optic infrastructure of Orange's operational network. To establish this transmission record, Orange relied in particular on new hybrid Raman / Erbium optical amplifiers developed by EKINOPS (read the press release of June 22nd 2015).
EKINOPS is a leading provider of open and fully interoperable Layer 1, 2 and 3 solutions to service providers around the world. Our programmable and highly scalable solutions enable the fast, flexible and cost-effective deployment of new services for both high-speed, high-capacity optical transport as well as virtualization-enabled managed enterprise services.
Our product portfolio consists of three highly complementary product and service sets: EKINOPS 360, OneAccess and Compose. EKINOPS 360 provides optical transport solutions for metro, regional and long-distance networks with WDM for high-capacity point-to-point, ring and optical mesh architectures, and OTN for improved bandwidth utilization and efficient multi-service aggregation.
OneAccess offers a wide choice of physical and virtualized deployment options for Layer 2 and Layer 3 access network functions.
Compose supports service providers in making their networks software-defined with a variety of software management tools and services, including the scalable SD-WAN Xpress. As service providers embrace SDN and NFV deployment models, EKINOPS enables future-proofed deployment today, enabling operators to seamlessly migrate to an open, virtualized delivery model at a time of their choosing.
